Dr Jordan Boyle

Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering whose research area is bio-inspired robotics with a focus on simpler invertebrate systems including the nematode C. elegans – the subject of his PhD research. He subsequently developed a C. elegans-inspired WormBot that adapts its locomotion to complex environments. More generally, he seeks to understand how organisms exploit the interaction of their nervous system, body and environment and apply these principles to robotic applications.
