Title of the Talk: Autonomous Robotic Systems: Modeling, Design and Control

Talk Abstract: This talk highlights the research and innovation ecosystem in Robotics Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET). It presents ongoing work in wearable exoskeletons, motion capture-based gait analysis, flexible robotic manipulators, and autonomous robotic systems, supported by state-of-the-art research facilities. The session also showcases student-led innovations through the Mechatronics and Robotics Society (MARS), including award-winning Mars rovers, quadruped robots, reconfigurable robots, and autonomous mobile robots developed through capstone projects and industry collaborations. The talk demonstrates how the integration of research, hands-on learning, and industry engagement is preparing the next generation of robotics engineers.

Short Bio: Dr. Ashish Singla is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala, with more than 20 years of experience in industry, teaching, and research.
